We visited Baikkie Bakehouse, a newly opened café tucked inside Dar Al Wasl, a smaller mall in Dubai where footfall remains relatively modest compared to the city’s major destinations. Yet, it is precisely in such locations that interesting concepts often emerge—and Baikkie is one worth noting.
Soft-opened at the end of November 2025, Baikkie Bakehouse has managed to attract attention despite its discreet setting. From the outset, the café shows a clear understanding of how to engage customers: a clean, inviting design paired with an irresistible display of freshly baked croissants positioned right at the entrance. Golden, layered, and visually striking, they act as both a product and a marketing tool.
Behind this early traction lies a structured approach, supported by hospitality consultancy, ensuring that the concept aligns with Dubai’s fast-moving café culture—where aesthetic appeal, comfort, and indulgence go hand in hand.
A Menu Designed for Indulgence
Baikkie’s beverage selection reflects a growing trend in the region: visually appealing, indulgent drinks that resonate with a younger, experience-driven audience. While the traditional tea menu includes well-executed classics such as Jasmine Pearl, Bergamot Earl Grey, Chamomile Cooler, Ginger Lemon Breeze and Hunan Green Tea, it is the matcha section that truly takes center stage.
With offerings such as Matcha Latte, Hojicha Matcha, Coconut Matcha, Lavender Matcha Cloud, and Salted Vanilla Matcha, the menu embraces a contemporary, dessert-inspired approach to tea—designed to engage both visually and sensorially.
Our visit took place on the first day of Eid, in a moment when the region was navigating geopolitical tensions. Yet, as often happens in Dubai, the city’s hospitality scene continued to offer an ejoyable and relaxing experience. Inside Baikkie, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming—exactly the kind of setting where one looks for comfort in small rituals.
The highlight of our visit—the reason we arrived in the first place—was the hojicha latte. Smooth, well-balanced, and topped with a distinctively creamy foam, it delivered both in taste and presentation. It is this combination of execution and visual appeal that defines Baikkie’s offering.

Early Signals, Promising Direction
According to the café’s manager, coffee, specialty coffee, and matcha are currently the top-selling categories. However, given the recent opening and fluctuating visitor patterns, it is still too early to clearly define long-term consumer preferences.
What is evident is that Baikkie Bakehouse has launched with a strong foundation:
A well-defined visual identity
Highly appealing, photogenic products
A menu aligned with current trends
A thoughtfully designed, welcoming space
Looking Ahead
Dubai continues to prove its ability to support new hospitality concepts, even in less central locations. Baikkie Bakehouse enters the market with the right ingredients for success, but its long-term trajectory will depend on its ability to build consistency and cultivate a loyal clientele. Will it become another example of Dubai’s resilience and evolving taste? Will its tea-driven offering draw in a growing base of enthusiasts?
For now, Baikkie Bakehouse shows clear potential. As always, in a city that never stands still, the coming months will tell—and we will be back to see how the story unfolds.
